July 17, 2025 | Session 6 | The Power of Partnerships for Green Infrastructure

Description: The U.S. faces a significant infrastructure funding gap, making the task of meeting stormwater management demands challenging for any single entity. To address current and future infrastructure needs, partnerships and innovative investment methods are essential. In this webinar, we will explore various types of partnerships, their benefits, and their purpose within green infrastructure. This includes partnerships between state and federal entities, as well as collaborations involving public, nonprofit, and private organizations. Practitioners from three cities – Milwaukee, Seattle, and Philadelphia – will present case studies of successful green infrastructure projects that owe their success to effective collaboration among entities.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain familiarity with the range of possible types and compositions of partnerships that make green infrastructure happen.
  • Learn how partnerships aid in green stormwater funding and investment challenges.
  • Walk away with three concrete examples of how these concepts can work in practice.

Guest Speakers: Barbara Hopkins, Executive Director, Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange, Lisa Sasso, Project Manager, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, Aaron Kirkland, Grounds Maintenance Superintendent, Philadelphia Water Department, and Amanda Barnett, Senior Planning & Development Specialist, Seattle Public Utilities and Mid-Sound Fisheries
