Description: This webinar is the second in a three-part series bringing together practitioners for practical discussions on green schoolyards as a high-impact strategy for climate resilience, public health and stormwater compliance. In this webinar, Heather Dietzel (MPS) and Lisa Sasso (MMSD) discuss the partnerships between MPS and MMSD that have led to developing many green schoolyards across Milwaukee. Heather will also speak to how MPS has navigated grants and funding sources to maximize co-benefits at these new schoolyards for both the school and neighboring communities. Greenprint’s Hannah Kacprzak will moderate the conversation.

Participants will gain insights on how to successfully budget for and implement green schoolyards, and learn how utilities can meet their goals through green schoolyard projects.

Learning Objectives:

  • Build your ability to understand and build buy-in around the many benefits of green schoolyards, using Milwaukee Public Schools as an example

  • Gain insights for how to:

    •  Successfully budget for and implement a green schoolyard

    • Avoid common barriers to implementation

  • Understand how utilities can meet water quality / stormwater requirements with green schoolyards
