Location | Nicholls State University, Bollinger Suite - 906 E 1st St, Thibodaux, LA 70301 Description: This workshop provides attendees with a better understanding of the chlorine disinfection process along with operations and maintenance (O&M) best practices. Topics include chlorine disinfection basics, chlorine safety, system O&M, chlorine residual monitoring, and disinfection math. In addition, chlorine disinfection is discussed as it relates to the Safe Drinking Water Act, sanitary surveys, and operator certification. Trainer: Rose Afandi, Tribal Drinking Water Program Specialist; and Tucker Colvin, Research Scientist, Southwest Environmental Finance Center at the University of New Mexico Continuing Education Credit: This training is approved for 6.0 hours for Louisiana Water Operators by LDH - OPH. Cost: Complimentary. Who Should Attend:
  • Managers, owners, and operators of water systems serving less than 10,000 people
  • Decision-makers for water utilities, including mayors, finance officers, utility managers, public works directors, city councilors, board members, tribal council members, and clerks
