Description: Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals are a vital part of all Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations. They are essential in providing reference material for WWTP operations, records for future operators, and redundancy to ensure the successful continuation of operations in the event of unusual employee turnover. An effective O&M manual should standardize maintenance and operations, guide operators to meet regulatory standards, provide training material, and establish reliable contact chains and emergency procedures. The goal of this workshop is to establish effective O&M manual development procedures, provide useful O&M manual development resources, and provide sufficient motivation to produce a quality O&M manual.

The EFCN will utilize a combination of conversational scenarios and information from established O&M manual guides to communicate the essential aspects of a quality O&M manual. The EFCN will demonstrate a variety of scenarios for participants to observe and comment on to provide a foundation for the important aspects of O&M manual development and upkeep. Participants will be provided how-to guides, checklists, and examples of O&M manual material to further aid them in producing useful O&M manuals.
