St. Thomas, USVI Training | Chlorine Disinfection of Drinking Water Workshop
Description: This workshop is designed to provide attendees a better understanding of the chlorine disinfection process and how to effectively disinfect water on a daily as well as an emergency basis. Topics covered include how chlorine disinfection works, safety, chemical feed pump O&M, and residual monitoring. The batch disinfection of tanks and cisterns will be covered including how to calculate the amount of chlorine to add to effectively protect the people that may drink the water. In addition, chlorine disinfection is discussed as it relates to the Safe Drinking Water Act’s Revised Total Coliform Rule and the Disinfectant/Disinfection Byproducts Rules.
