Description: Whether at work or in our day-to-day activities, we are constantly managing risk. These risks originate from various sources and their impacts vary in terms of potential damages. The appropriate path to mitigate risk also varies depending on factors such as availability of resources, risk tolerance, and redundancy.  A proactive approach to managing risks result in better use of resources to provide adequate levels of service at lower cost. Therefore, risk management lies at the heart of an effective asset management strategy. In this webinar, important aspects of risk management for small water and wastewater systems will be presented.

In this one-hour webinar, you will learn:

  • How to define and identify types of risk
  • Steps to be followed in establishing a comprehensive risk management strategy
  • How risk management interacts with the five core components of asset management.

Views and concepts from other sectors, such as transportation, will also be presented. Participants will be asked to participate in polls and open-ended questions to facilitate an interactive dialogue. It is anticipated that the attendees will benefit from these discussions and exchange of ideas on this important topic.
