Location: Online Event

Description: Condition Assessment of Pumps and Motors is a proactive maintenance practice used to evaluate the mechanical and electrical health of critical wastewater assets. Utilities often struggle with reactive maintenance, leading to unexpected equipment failures that trigger raw wastewater overflows, regulatory fines, and costly emergency repairs. Implementing routine condition assessments empowers operators and managers to detect hidden defects early, schedule safe maintenance interventions, and extend the operational lifespan of critical infrastructure.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify primary operational applications and common failure modes of wastewater pumps and motors.

  • Describe electrical diagnostic tests —including measuring voltage, resistance, and amperage draw/imbalance—to assess motor health.

  • Evaluate mechanical asset health using field methods such as vibration tracking, temperature readings, and visual checks.

  • Prioritize maintenance, repairs, or planned replacements based on test results

Presenter: Greg Pearson, Water/Wastewater Systems Trainer, Great Lakes Environmental Infrastructure Center

Certificate: This webinar has NOT been submitted for approval of continuing education credit. We can provide a certificate of attendance to eligible attendees, but cannot guarantee it will meet your PDH or CEU requirements.
