WA Training | Show Me the Money
Location: South Puget Sound Community College | Lacey Campus | Building 1, Room 186
Description: With the issues plaguing utilities related to decaying infrastructure and the need to meet existing and new regulatory obligations, there is a large need to obtain outside funding for infrastructure improvement projects. Utilities need to understand what the funding process is, how to obtain funding, where to obtain funding, and how to complete the application process. This half-day training will focus on this funding topic and involve a mix of lecture, presentations of funders, panel discussions to answer attendee questions, and an interactive funding activity. Attendees will also have an opportunity to interact one-on-one with funders to ask specific questions about their projects or the funding process.
Also offered the same day: Effective Utility Management Training (1:15 pm – 4:15 pm). Participants may register for one or both sessions.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the basics of the funding process
- Identify at least 3 potential sources of outside funding for infrastructure projects
- Learners will be able to identify resources available to help obtain funding
