Location: Fremont Library, Seattle, WA; 731 N 35th St, Seattle, WA 98103 Description: Don’t get lost in the FOG! Join the EFC Network for this training on Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) prevention. FOG is a major problem in sewer systems today and must be addressed with a multi-pronged approach to protect your sewer system, public health, and the environment. This training is designed to help communities develop a FOG prevention program, grow their current programs, and develop outreach materials to the community to minimize the impact of excessive FOG on the sewer system. Training Objectives:

Understand the basics of FOG and its impact on the sewer system
Learn the components and regulations of a successful FOG prevention program
Develop a FOG ordinance using SWEFC’s template and guide
Assess your community’s capacity for a FOG program
Train on monitoring and enforcing FOG prevention programs
Understand the impact of domestic FOG producers and requirements for FSEs and grease interceptor cleaners
Learn about FOG prevention outreach strategies

Trainer: AJ Barney, Research Engineer, Southwest Environmental Finance Center CEUs: This training is approved for 0.4 CEUs for wastewater operators by the State of Washington Department of Ecology. Who Should Attend:
