Description: Don’t get lost in the FOG! Join the EFC Network for this training on Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) prevention. FOG is a major problem in sewer systems today and must be addressed with a multi-pronged approach to protect your sewer system, public health, and the environment. This training is designed to help communities develop a FOG prevention program, grow their current programs, and develop outreach materials to the community to minimize the impact of excessive FOG on the sewer system.
Training Objectives:
- Understand the basics of FOG and its impact on the sewer system
- Learn the components and regulations of a successful FOG prevention program
- Develop a FOG ordinance using SWEFC’s template and guide
- Assess your community’s capacity for a FOG program
- Train on monitoring and enforcing FOG prevention programs
- Understand the impact of domestic FOG producers and requirements for FSEs and grease interceptor cleaners
- Learn about FOG prevention outreach strategies
