Description: In an unpredictable environment, water utilities need robust strategies to ensure continuity in the face of service disruptions. Service impacts can be unpredictable and come from many directions, both immediate, unexpected challenges and long-term risks that build over time. The 360° Resiliency workshop equips water system staff with tools to evaluate their system’s risk, identify key resiliency needs, and prepare financially and operationally for potential service disruptions. Using the framework in the 360 Resilience Readiness Tool, attendees will leave with a checklist covering areas like risk assessment, financial stability, workforce readiness, cyber preparedness, and more. After the workshop, participants will have written resources and an opportunity to work directly with the EFCN Small Systems program to obtain specific topical training or technical assistance on a priority need identified.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the role of risk prioritization in resilience
  • Know the multiple areas of resilience needs for business continuity including but beyond natural hazards and AWIA requirements
  • Enable participants to bring practices back to their management and operations teams for further steps.
  • Identify priority topics/functions for specific follow-up technical assistance
