Description: Join the PFAS conversation! Per- and Poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of chemicals considered an emerging contaminant of concern that a growing body of evidence shows can adversely impact human health at certain levels. These chemicals have been shown to be present in surface water, groundwater, soil, and air in a variety of settings ranging from urban to rural. Given their widespread presence and potential risks, the US EPA has developed a PFAS Strategic Roadmap to address PFAS concerns, focusing on assessing laboratory methods, removal techniques, and NPDES permitting for reduced PFAS discharge.

To support communities in their readiness for these coming regulations, the Southwest Environmental Finance Center (SWEFC) invites you to join us for an interactive peer-to-peer session on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023. This facilitated session will foster discussions among communities, sharing current actions and past strategies in preparation for coming PFAS regulations. Please join us to exchange experiences and insights on PFAS with fellow wastewater professionals.
