NY Training | How to Read Your NPDES Permit & Nutrient Removal Optimization at Existing Plants
Location: Binghamton–Johnson City WWTP, 4480 Vestal Rd, Vestal, NY 13850
Description: Operators and managers of wastewater treatment plants often focus on meeting limits – and rightly so. However, there are other terms and conditions in plant discharge permits that are important to know and understand – often dealing with emergency conditions and daily operations and maintenance. This course will help operators better understand all permit conditions and inform their day-to-day operations.
Additionally, many activated sludge treatment plants have the ability to reduce discharges of nitrogen and phosphorus – often at no small capital investment and significant energy savings. This course will cover nutrient optimization strategies that can significantly reduce nutrient discharges through operational changes at low cost, often while saving significant amounts of energy. Additionally, it will address chemical methods for phosphorus removal from wastewater discharges.
Please Note: The training time includes breaks. Lunch will not be provided.
