Description: This workshop is vitally important for all utility managers who want to get started on the path to developing an effectively managed and sustainable utility. Based on the well-established Effective Utility Management (EUM) framework, this workshop shows participants how to use the Ten Attributes of an Effectively Managed Utility” and the “Five Keys to Management Success” to identify both areas of strength and opportunities for improvement and how to get started in making meaningful changes in everyday operations.

Learning Objectives:

• Conduct the EUM Self-Assessment, the results from which participants can use to spark and support further dialog within their utility about areas for potential improvement and further use of the EUM framework
• Equip participants to create an internal team and utilize the EUM framework to assess utility conditions and create a plan for improving
• Create an opportunity to learn from utility peers about their challenges, successes, and plans for improving
