NH Training | Advanced Activated Sludge & Nutrient Removal
Please Note: The registration link leads to an external website.
Location: Franklin Training Center, 528 River St, Franklin, NH 03235
Description: As discharge permit limits tighten and emerging contaminants become a greater concern for wastewater systems, the importance of properly operating a wastewater treatment plant becomes greater.
This course will cover more advanced activated sludge and nutrient removal operations. Attendees will understand the various types of activated sludge designs, gain greater knowledge of process control testing options and potential fixes for common operational problems. Issues associated with problematic biology, such as foams and bulking will be addressed.
Operators will also better understand what to look for in their plants which may cause treatment failures. These items include understanding original design parameters, identification of single points of failure, potential for shock loadings, identification of all control points for operations on both a day-to-day and emergency basis and identification of bottlenecks related to sludge processing.
Attendees will understand the most common purpose-built nutrient removal designs, environmental conditions for nitrogen and phosphorus and leave with potential ideas for nutrient optimization at their own facilities.
