Water and wastewater operators work quietly behind the scenes to keep our communities and economies up and running every day, every night and every second! We sometimes forget just how vital water is to our community’s wellbeing. In many ways, water operators are community pharmacists that prescribe and deliver the most demanded and essential medicine to our existence, water. Therefore, it is not surprising that there is a vast amount of certification, regulations and training that water operators must learn to perform their job well. This session will help you understand just how valuable water operators are to your community, and how you can use workforce planning to recruit and retain skilled water operators, or plan for a successful transition upon the retirement of your current water operator.
