Description: This two-part virtual workshop will introduce key concepts and mathematics needed for wastewater treatment process control. Participants will review foundational calculations and apply them to real treatment scenarios, helping strengthen confidence in day-to-day operational decision-making.
Objectives: By the end of this training, attendees will be able to do the following:
_Please Note: This is a two-part training over the course of two days. In order to qualify for CEUs or a certificate of attendance, you must attend both days:
- Define and calculate BOD in influent wastewater flows
- Calculate FM ratios and MCRTs for activated sludge plants
- Identify basic microbes associated with wastewater treatment scenarios
- Calculate hydraulic and organic loading for trickling filter and RBC plants
- Explain process control laboratory procedures for wastewater treatment

- Managers, owners, and operators of wastewater systems with an average daily flow of less than 1 million gallons

- Consultants and technical assistance providers serving wastewater systems
