Effective communication is an important part of any utility employee’s job. Whether it is expressing the utility’s goals to the consumer or working with their fellow employees, communication skills are vital to the system. People generally look for someone who can communicate valuable guidance, provide leadership, and lead them in problem-solving. When you successfully fill that role, you act to reassure your community that their government and private organizations are working toward delivering safe drinking and waste water. Communication also plays an important role in making better decisions for your organization. This class will help the attendee in both areas for the betterment of your community.

CEUs: This workshop has been approved for 0.6 CEU’s for drinking water, distribution system, or wastewater operators.

Cost: There is no charge for those not wishing to receive CEUs. However, if you wish to receive CEUs there is an Administrative Fee of $35.00 for Florida Rural Water Association members and $65.00 for non‐members.

Who Should Attend:
These workshops are designed for water systems serving 10,000 or fewer people (though systems of any size may attend), especially targeting local government systems facing financial challenges. Local government drinking water system managers, clerks, treasurers, elected officials, and others who budget and/or set rates are encouraged to attend. Owners of privately owned systems, consultants and technical assistance providers serving water systems are also invited to attend.
