Description: Asset Management is a process that allows a water or wastewater system to better manage its assets and improve the workday for its employees. It helps improve efficiency and reduce unplanned, reactionary activities in favor of more planned, proactive work. Hence, asset management is a strategic way of thinking about assets: an iterative process that involves five core concepts: Level of Service, Current State of the Assets, Criticality, Life Cycle Costing, and Long-Term funding .

As we move beyond the basics of asset management, we will briefly revisit the overall thought-process of asset management during the first part of this training and move into the more advanced concepts as the day progresses.

_Learning Objectives:

  • Setting and measuring level of service goals
  • Developing an asset inventory with analysis in mind
  • Factors impacting Criticality and how to analyze and visualize Criticality
  • What is included in the life cycle of an asset
  • How asset management helps determine where and how to spend your limited resources

While all attendees are welcome, this workshop is most suited for attendees who have some understanding of the basics of asset management.
