Easton Utilities won the MD Green Registry’s Sustainability Leadership Award for installing a 2-megawatt photovoltaic solar array, which produces more than 100% of the energy needed for its wastewater treatment facility and removing up to 95% of pollutants through wastewater treatment system and selling the resulting biosolids to local farmers as fertilizer, among other things.
