Hosted by the Mississippi Water and Pollution Control Operator’s Association and the Mississippi Department of Health South Region
Training Provided by the Environmental Finance Center Network

This workshop, for water systems that serve 10,000 or fewer people, focuses on three crucial aspects of water system finance and management—addressing water loss, managing the energy use of water systems, and setting rates.  Participants will be introduced to establishing an effective water loss control program at their water system, in particular how to begin to address non-revenue water including both apparent losses and real losses (leakage).  In addition, participants learned about strategies to reduce the cost of energy use within a water system.  Finally, participants learned about how to set water rates that cover the full costs of the water system.  The workshop included a mix of presentations and hands on activities and is best suited for individuals who make financial and managerial decisions on behalf of the water system.

This training has been approved for 3 Regulatory and 3 Non-Regulatory MSDH CEU Hours.

This training is designed for water systems serving 10,000 or fewer people. Owners of privately owned systems, consultants and technical assistance providers serving small water systems are also invited to participate.
