This workshop is free of charge. Lunch is on your own. The cost of transportation to and from the training is the responsibility of the participants.
About the workshop:
This two day training will cover key elements for the effective operation of a small public water system.
Day 1 (4/19) will feature modules with hands on exercises: defining roles and responsibilities in a water system, asset management and aging infrastructure, controlling water loss, fiscal planning and rate setting. Heather Himmelberger from the University of New Mexico Environmental Finance Center will be a presenter.
Day 2 (4/20) is an interactive workshop on small system sustainability. You will have the opportunity to apply what you learned on Day 1 while conducting a self-assessment of your water system.
Who should attend:
Owners, managers, board members, financial officers of small water systems, and certified operators should attend.
