Leadership happens at every level of an organization regardless of the organization’s type or size. There are often strong stakeholder perspectives surrounding water issues as well as numerous challenges and opportunities. Public works directors water utility managers, operators and maintenance staff, and finance staff need to effectively interact with community residents, boards or commissions, funding and regulatory agencies as well as their internal team members. This workshop was designed water systems serving 10,000 or fewer customers. Individuals were introduced to templates and tools to help you communicate more effectively, reduce conflict among diverse stakeholders, and effectively plan for the future. They learned a decision-making process which will lead to justifiable conclusions and recommendations. This training improved attendees’ ability to create a compelling message for stakeholders and diverse audience with the intention of creating support as well as changing attitudes and behaviors.
